Though we could not find any records or photos of this car being made for the NYP&N, we do know they had gondolas on their roster. These cars were used to haul crushed oyster shells, gravel, and raw materials off the Eastern Shore to the city markets. Because of the nature of this style of car, it was most likely used for this purpose.

According to a quick research, NYP&N had 25-50 gondolas in their fleet, most likely car numbers 5000-5099. Because we couldn’t find actual photos, we did use AI to generate what the car may have looked like, based on other cars of the time period, along with knowing the font that NYP&N used, their colors (PRR oxide brown), and the standard white lettering. These cars were most likely built for the NYP&N by the PRR, just before the merger in 1921.
